Kari DeLeeuw, DVM, VSMT, CVA
Originally from San Diego, Kari spent nearly every day of her childhood on a horse. She rode at Del Mar Showpark and competed hunters and jumpers. After graduating with honors from Cornell University, she went on to get her Veterinary degree at UC Davis. She did a post-graduate internship at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital in the Seattle, Washington area in 2002, where she focused on equine emergency medicine.
After completing her internship, Dr. De Leeuw remained at Pilchuck to further focus on sports medicine. She completed her chiropractic training from the Healing Oasis Wellness Center in Wisconsin and her acupuncture certification from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. She continues to study Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine with the Chi Institute.
Her current practice, Equine Holistic Sports Medicine, is located in the Half Moon Bay area of California. She specializes in treating both horses and dogs with chiropractic therapy, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and Sports Medicine. Her passion is in finding where the animal’s hurt and helping them heal in the most natural, least invasive way possible.
In her spare time, she can be found exercising herself, her horse Jordan, or her Border Collie, Clover.
